Euphoria

The definition of the word “Euphoria” is “A feeling or state of intense excitement and happiness”.

Music has been reported to evoke the full range of human emotions from sad, nostalgic, and tense to happy, relaxed, calm, and joyous. The study of 'music and emotion' seeks to understand the psychological relationship between human affect and music. It is a branch of music psychology with numerous study areas, including the nature of emotional reactions to music, how characteristics of the listener may determine which emotions are felt, and which components of a musical composition or performance may elicit certain reactions.

What happens when we listen to something beautiful? What goes through our minds? How do we react, and how our mind and body react? What are our feelings when we go to a concert and listen to our favorite music? What emotions go through our body and mind?

Human emotions and expressions have always attracted me throughout my photography journey. So, I tried to explore the relation between music and human emotions through this photo series.

None of these photos is manipulated. I used the combinations of slow shutter speed and external flash technique to take these portraits. I only did color corrections by a photo processing software, “Lightroom”.
